Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Laboratory is a part of the Brno University of Technology, the second largest technical university in the Czech Republic. The University was established in 1899 and now has nearly 21 thousand students in Bachelor´s, Master´s and doctoral study programmes.
Most of the Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Laboratory´s projects are experimentally oriented. Spray cooling is studied within both academic and industrial projects.
Methods of inverse tasks (computation of the thermal boundary conditions from experimental measurements) and calibration of thermal sensors have been developed in the theoretical branch of the laboratory.
The Laboratory is capable of performing numerical modelling of temperature and stress fields. The most typical applications are models of technological processes such as rolling, continuous casting, descaling, forming and industrial cooling.
